Playoffs?

In this weeks, Weekly Mail, I lamented the fact that none of my 5 loser teams qualified for the playoffs this year. You would think that would happen more often, but if you break the year up and make it the school calendar, you'll see it has actually never happened (or at least not since I started following sports) For the sake of this experiment, we started the year in September, so we go World Series, Super Bowl, NCAA Tournament, Stanley Cup, NBA Finals in that order.

I can't believe I'm writing this, but based on that formula, this is the first time it has ever happened that not ONE team of mine qualified for the post season.

In college basketball, I only count the Big Dance (not the NIT or Conference Tourneys) In baseball, I don't count the Wild Card play in game.
